Ch 17

*The next week*

*Tuesday morning*

Hannah, Ria and Rissy had been excited all week! It almost been a month since they last saw the lads and they’d been waiting for this day ever since!
“Now, don’t get too excited.” Hannah tried to warn Ria. “Remember, the lads are only here for one day so you’ll only get to see them for like 5 minutes.”<br>Ria just grinned.
It was only 4am but all 3 girls were wide awake; well, maybe only 2 of them because Rissys eyes kept closing every time she thought no one was looking!
Shane had warned them that although they weren’t getting there until 9 the queues would be pretty long and they’d have to get there at last 3 or 4 hours before if they wanted to be in with a chance of seeing the lads!

*An hour later*

Shane had been right! There must’ve been at least 800 people there already and they had to wait another 4 hours yet!
There wasn’t a queue; Hannah, Ria and Rissy just had to push forward and get as close to the barrier as possible!

*3 and a half hours later*

Everyone was tired by now and Hannah could have easily fallen asleep!
There were thousands of people by now and more still turning up!
The atmosphere was great! With only half an hour left (providing the lads were on time!) everyone was getting excited.

*Half an hour later*

3 brand new 4X4s with tinted windows slowly drove passed. Everyone knew that the lads were inside. The screaming increased and Hannah thought her eardrums were going to burst! She picked Rissy up and grabbed Rias hand.
The minute the rope was taken down and the door opened Hannah ran; along with thousands of other people!
She managed to get near the front of the queue. She estimated that there were about 400 people in front of them, so they’d defiantly get to see the lads!
Ria was crying.
“What’s wrong?1” Hannah asked alarmed.
“Nothing.” Ria replied. “I’m just so happy that we’re going to see them again!”<br>Hannah looking around; lots of people were crying and most people were screaming!
Just them the lads walked out and sat down at a long table.
“Bryan!” Rissy squealed.
The people around them laughed.
By now everyone was screaming!
“SHANE!” Ria screamed so loudly that she even surprised herself!
Shane looked around. Ria screamed again. He was still looking but he couldn’t see who it was screaming.
“SHANE!!!” Hannah shouted even louder than Ria!
He saw them then and waved.
Bryan saw the 3 girls too and blew a kiss at them.
Nicky looked up and he Hannah locked eyes. He eventually blushed and looked away.

*An hour and a half later*

The 3 girls were nearly at the front of the queue.
Hannah could feel butterflies in her tummy. The more she looked at Nicky, the more they increased!
Ria could feel the too, but hers were for Shane!
It was their turn to go up now.
“Hi!” Shane greeted them with a smile. “Long time no see! How are ya?!”<br> “Great!” Hannah smiled back.
“All the better for seeing me, I’m sure!” Shane laughed.
Ria nodded.
“I see you’re getting taller and prettier everyday!” Shane told Ria. She blushed.
“And look at you getting all grown up!” He said to Rissy. She giggled.
“Think you’d better sign this.” Hannah handed Shane the CD booklet. “Looks like we’re holding up the queue!”<br>Shane signed it and gave Hannah a piece of paper that he told her to read as soon as all the lads had signed their booklets.
Hannah, Ria and Rissy said ‘bye’ and moved along to Mark, then Kian, then Bryan and lastly Nicky.
“Hi.” He greeted them, his face glowing red.
“Hi.” Hannah said as thought she was perfectly happy talking to him. “How are you?”<br>She could feel the other lads eyes all on them.
“I’m fine thanks.” Nicky replied. “You?”<br> “I’m good thanks.” And with that they both said goodbye and the 3 girls walked away.
Hannah moved over to one side and read the note from Shane. It said:
‘We finish at 1pm. Go to the door saying staff and show them this note and you can stay in there and wait if you want and we’ll see you afterwards. It’s up to you. Love Shane.’<br>Hannah showed the note to Ria and they went to the ‘staff’ door and were let in.

Ch 18

1pm eventually came around, it had seemed to take forever for the girls and the lads!
Ria and Rissy were both sleeping on the sofas and Hannah was sitting back in one of the chair with her eyes closed.
She heard the lads come in and didn’t move.
“Aww, look at those 3!” Bryan pointed as he bounded into the room.
“Nicky, talk to her!” Hannah heard Shane tell Nicky.
“Drop it Shane!” nicky stormed out of the room.
“Uh oh!” Bryan said as he picked up a pillow. He hovered over Hannah with it and was about to hit her over the head with it when she grabbed it from his hands and jumped up.
Bryan jumped and started running with Hannah chasing after him.
He was doing fine until he tripped over the leads from the Playstation control and landed flat on his back!
Hannah stood above him hitting him over the head with the pillow when Nicky walked in. He smiled to himself watching Hannah,
Ria and Rissy woke up then. It wasn’t surprising with the noise that Bryan was making! You’d think he was being tortured!
Hannah put the pillow over Bryans mouth and sit on his stomach to make him shut up!
“So, how was the signing?” Hannah asked the lads.
“Boring!” They all replied at once.
They all sat and talking while Bryan showed Ria and Rissy how to play one of the games on the Playstation.
Hannah went to the toilet and when she came back she stood in the doorway watching Nicky. He was playing one of the games with Bryan and he had concentration written all over his face. He looked so sweet. He said something and Bryan laughed. Hannah realised that this was the real nicky, laughing and joking. She liked that in a man; someone that could be serious and have a laugh.
Shane noticed Hannah and smiled at her sympathetically.
Eventually, Kian said that it was time for them to be heading off.
“Where are we gonna meet you tomorrow?” Shane asked Hannah.
She went to answer and then said, “What?!”<br> “I said…” Shane started.
“No, I know what you said!” Hannah cut him off. “But, what are you talking about? You said that you were only gonna be here for 1 day!”<br> “Did I?!” Shane said trying to keep a straight face.
Hannah looked around and everyone was laughing, even Ria.
“Opps!” he said. “I lied!”<br>Hannah glared at him and then at Ria. “ You were in on this weren’t you!?” Hannah accused her.
Ria giggled and nodded.
“Surprise!” Bryan laughed.
“So, how many days are you here for really?” Hannah asked them.
“Well, we were meant to be here for a week, but we’v got an extra week off, so we thought we’d stay then too!” Kian told her.
“Wow!” Hannah sighed. “Cool!”<br> “So,” Shane said. “Are you free to meet up tomorrow?”<br> “Umm, yeh, I should think so!” Hannah told him.
“I’ve got an idea.” Mark suggested. “We could meet up for a meal together! If you drive up here after you’ve picked the girls up from school and we could go out and eat and you’d be back in time for the girls to go to bed and not be too tired for school in the morning!”<br> “That’s a good idea.” Kian added. “Then the girls wouldn’t have to miss any more time off school and you off work!”<br>Hannah nodded. “What do you 2 think of that?” She asked her sisters. They nodded their heads so hard that it looked like they were going to fall off!
“OK then!” Hannah agreed and they arranged here they’d meet and what time.

Ch 19

*The next afternoon*
Ria got into the car with Hannah and Rissy.
“Please can we go home first!!?” Ria begged Hannah. “I just wanna change my clothes!”<br>Hannah looked at her watch and then down at her, not very smart, clothes that she’d thrown on that morning.
“OK than!” She agreed. “But you have to be quick!
Hannah changed out of her old jeans and sweatshirt and put on her knee length skirt and best top.
Ria quickly changed out of her school uniform and into her favourit skirt and top.
“Where do you reckon we’re gonna eat?!” Ria asked Hannah nervously.
“No where unless we hurry up! Now come on! Get back in the car!”<br>

(After eventually finding a place to park!)
Hannah took hold of Rias and Rissys hands and led them across the road to the restaurant where they’d arranged to meet.
She looked through the window and saw the lads already in there, so she led the girls in.
The lads turned to look at them and Shane whispered something in Nicky’s ear. Nicky nodded.
To Hannahs surprise he was the first to walk over to greet the girls. Then he offered to take their jackets.
Hannah didn’t know what to say. Nicky had never made conversation like this before. She noticed the butterflies in her stomach flutter faster.
Luckily for her, the other lads walked over then and led the girls to their table.
They talk for a while about their day-well, Ria and Rissy did! The rest just sat and listened!
Their food came and everyone carried on talking. Hannah could see that Rissy was getting tired. She tried to help her with her food, but Rissy wouldn’t eat it. She started crying but eventually stopped and fell asleep in her seat!
Ria was STILL talking!
Hannah held her head.
“You OK?” Nicky asked her.
“Yeh, I’ve just got a massive headache. I’m just gonna go and get some fresh air.”<br>Hannah stood up from the table and walked outside.
She’d been out there for about 5 minutes when Nicky joined her.
“Quite a pair you’ve got there!” he indicated to Ria and Rissy.
“Yeh!” Hannah replied. “Don’t get me wrong, they’re great, but sometimes I just need a break from them!” She laughed.
“What about your parents?” Nicky questioned.
“Well, my dad died a couple of years back, just after Rissy was born, and my mam works weird shifts, so I do my best to look after them when she’s working and a lot of the time when she’s not working, so she can get a bit of a rest!”<br> “Oh, I’m sorry about your dad!” Nicky said in almost a whisper.
“That’s OK.” Hannah sighed. “Come on, we’d better get back to the others or they’ll think we’ve run away!”<br>Hannah and Nicky walked back in side-by-side and Hannah felt that everyone’s eyes were on them. She didn’t care. She felt good!
She sat back down and checked her watch. It was 7-0-clock.
“Oh, we’d better get going.” Hannah told the lads.
“Hey,” Nicky suggested, “Why don’t you and your friends come clubbing with us again tomorrow night?”
“Sounds good to me!” Hannah grinned. “But we can’t get plastered this time ‘cos we’ll have work the next day!”<br>The others agrees.
“I’ve got an idea!” Shane added. “We could go out tomorrow night and then obviously you’ll have work the next day, but it’ll be Friday, so you could come back up after school and work again and the 8 of us could go bowling or whatever and then you 3 could stay in our hotel Friday night and we could all go out together on the Saturday!
Everyone said that was an excellent idea! They made the arrangements, said ‘goodbye’ and left.

Ch20

Hannah’s mam had agreed to pick Ria and Rissy up so that Hannah could go and pick Leanne, Jade and Jennifer up, take them to Vik’s house where Hannah could get changed and get a taxi from there.
Hannah spent forever getting all dressed up and putting her make-up o. All the time she was grinning to herself.
Vikki went up behind her and tickled her. Hannah giggled.
“Someone looks happy!” Vikki commented.
Hannah just grinned in reply.

*The next day*

Hannah’s alarm went off at 7am, the same as every morning.
She groaned as she rolled out of bed. She’d tried not to drink too much the night before but it was hard when everyone was buying drinks for her! After all, she didn’t want to waste them!
She held her thumping head in her hands. She’d only got about 3 hours sleep last night and she was having trouble keeping her eyes open!
She didn’t really car, she’d had a great night and that was the important thing!

*That day after school and work*

Hannah’s phone started ringing just as she got in the car.
“Hello.” Hannah answered.
“Yello!” Shane laughed. “Right, everything’s sorted! I managed to book you a room next to ours at the hotel! I’ve booked a lane for bowling tonight and I’ve booked for us to go to the poshest restaurant in town tomorrow! So bring a posh dress!”<br> “Shane, you’re the best!” Hannah exclaimed.
“I know!” Shane laughed.
“I’ve gotta go home quickly to grab our bags. Oh d**n, I don’t think I’ve got a posh dress!”<br> “How about, we can go shopping tomorrow morning?”<br> “Really?! That’d be great! Gotta go! Love ya! Byeee!”<br>Hannah hung up, told Ria and Rissy the plans and drove home to get their stuff.

*2 hours later*

Hannah pulled into the hotel carpark. She got Ria and Rissy out and took the bags.
She walked into reception and looked around. Shane had promised that one of the lads would meet them down there.
The reception was swarming with mainly girls; she could only see one man in the corner in a beanie hat, a hody and sunglasses.
Hannah’s eyes flickered back to him. There was something about his good looks that was familiar.
She booked in and the receptionist gave her the key to their room and told her the way.
The 3 girls headed up the stairs and Hannah had a feeling that they were being followed. She tuned round to find the man in the beanie hat. She carried on up the next flight of stairs and suddenly a pair of hands rested on her bum. She jumped and turned round again. It was the man in the beanie hat! He slid his sunglasses down his nose to reveal his mischievous blue eyes.
“Nicky!” Hannah cried.
“Shh!” icky whispered and pushed her up yet another flight of stairs.
Ria and Rissy had already run off and were standing waiting by the door.
Hannah opened it and nearly had a heart attack as the 4 lads jumped out shouting “Boo!”<br> She hit them all and closed the all.
“What’s going on?” Hannah asked them. She looked at Nicky. “And why are you dressed like that?!”<br> “’Cos if those girls down there had known who I was I would have got mobbed and followed and none of us would have been able to sleep tonight with them screaming outside!” Nicky informed Hannah
“Oh right, they’re fans down there!”<br>the lads nodded.
“So,” She asked. “How did you get into our room?”<br> “They always have spare keys and I told them I was your husband!” Bryan laughed. “So they gave me the key!”<br> “Come on then,” Shane said, “Let’s go out!”<br> The 8 of them left the room and went down the fire exit stairs. They ended up in the kitchen! Mark explained why they were there and one of the chiefs pointed to a door that they could get out from.
They crept round the back of the hotel and found their way into the town.
“I’m hungry!” Bryan complained.
They walked a bit further and Nicky suddenly shouted “KFC!” and pointed down the road.
“Wow, clam down!” Hannah laughed.
“I’m sorry!” Nicky apologised. “But I loveeee KFC and I haven’t had it for like a week! I need KFC!”<br>“Me too!” Bryan shouted.
They all agreed that they’d eat to KFC and after they’d finished they found their way to the bowling alley.

*9.00pm*

They’d had 3 games; Nicky winning all of them! Hannah was impressed! “you could be a professional!” Hannah told him.
“I am a professional!” Nicky laughed.
“Yeh, I bet you are!” Bryan winked. “But I’m not so sure that the two of you are talking about bowling!”<br>Hannah and Nicky blushed.
They decided that they’d go back then as Rissy was almost asleep, Ria was tired and Mark had a headache.

Ch 21

Everyone had a lie-in on Saturday morning. They got up at about 9:45 and got ready to go out.
“Where are we going?” Bryan asked Shane.
“Shopping.” He told him. “ Hannah wants a new dress and I think Nicky forgot to bring a suit!” Shane winked at Bryan without anyone else seeing.
Nicky was just walking down the corridor when Hannah came out of her room. They both walked into the lad’s room to find Kian, Mark, Shane and Bryan standing in a huddle laughing. They went silent when Hannah and Nicky entered.
They had guilt written all over their faces!
“What’s going on!?” Hannah accused them.
“Nothing, we were just talking.” Shane told Hannah. She gave them the benefit of the doubt, knowing them; they were probably just talking about something rude!
Hannah left to go and Ria and Rissy ready.
She found Ria sitting on the floor making a card.
“Who’s that for?!” Hannah asked.
“Nicky.” Ria told her “It’s his birthday today, remember!?”<br> ‘nuts!’ Hannah thought. Out loud she said, “Is today 9th October?!”<br>Ria nodded.
‘Double nuts!’ Hannah thought. She ran necx door. Shane opened it.
“Why didn’t you remind me that today was the 9th!?” She whispered through gritted teeth.
“Clam down!” Shane told her. “You can get him something later. Or you could GIVE him something!” Shane wined and Hannah hit him in the stomach.
“What should I get him?!” She asked.
“Hmm…well, me and the lads are gonna get him some clothes later. Oh, I know what he wants, the latest ‘Boys II Men’ album.”<br> “Thank you!” Hannah kissed Shane on the check. “You are my saviour!” And she ran back next door to finish getting Rissy dressed.

*20 minutes later*

Everybody was finally ready to go out.
“I reckon we’re gonna have to split up.” Shane told everyone. “’Cos we have to go and get Nicko a suit and Hannah has to go and get a dress and you know what women are like, it’ll probably take all day!”<br>Hannah stuck her tongue out at him.
“So if you take Ria and Rissy and phone us when you’re done, or I’ll phone you if we’re done first and we’ll decide where to meet then.”<br>Hannah agreed and the girls went one way and the lads went the other way.
Hannah walked into the first dress shop and she it straight away. She could tell without looking at any other that this was THE dress. It was perfect. It was lone and black with thin straps and it was slightly sparkly. It was posh but not TOO posh!
She went and tried it on. She came out and showed Ria and Rissy.
“Wow!” Ria sighed, “You look beautiful!”<br>Hannah blushed. “Do you really like it?”<br>Ria and Rissy both nodded.
Hannah went back into the changing rooms and took it off. She knew what she had to do now, look at the price!
She almost cried when she saw it! There was no way she could pay £180 for a dress! Then she turned the label over, on the other side it said 50% off! It still made the dress £90 but Hannah didn’t care! It was THE dress!
“Before she could change her mind, she put her clothes back on, took the dress to the till and handed the women her credit card.
The women folded it neatly and put it in the bag. Hannah walked out feeling so happy!
She asked Ria to hold the bag for one minute while she phoned Shane.
“Just so you know, I’ve got a dress! So it didn’t take me all day! 20 minutes to be precise!” She told him.
“Oh my God!” He said sarcastically.
“You got Nicky’s suit yet?” She asked.
“Nope, but Kian’s bought him a pair of £150 jeans and Bryan’s got him a jacket to match that cost £120!”<br> “Wow!” Hannah sighed. She felt silly for worrying about buying a dress for £90 when Nicky had just got jeans and a jacket for £270!
“Right,” She told Shane. “I’m off to buy Nicky a card and that CD that he wants. I’ll call ya again when I’m done. Bye.”<br> “Bye.” Shane replied.

Hannah, Ria and Rissy went in about 11 music shops before finding the CD that Nicky wanted! Eventually they found it in a massive Virgin Megastores! Then Hannah had to find somewhere that would rap it and she had to buy a card.
The 3 girls had just finished when Shane phoned.
“What took you so long?” He asked. “Didn’t you just have to get the CD?”<br> “God,” Hannah told him, “We couldn’t find it anywhere!”<br> “But you’ve got it now?”<br> “Yep.”<br> “Good, good. Right we’ve got Nicky a suit and tie, so we’re done too! I donno about you, but I need a drink now! How abouts we’ll meet you at that pub on the corner where we started off?”<br> They agreed and the 3 girls went off to meet the lads.

*20 minutes later*

The girls eventually got to the pub and went and sat down with the lads.
“Ah, it’s good to sit down!” Hannah sighed . they all agreed!
“I hate shopping!” Ria complained.
“That’s a shame,” Shane told her, “’Cos while you were off shopping I got you a present. But, maybe you don’t want it?
“I take it back!” Ria laughed. “I love shopping!”<br>Shane reached into a bag and pulled out a box and gave it to Ria. Then he pulled out a bag and gave it to Rissy.
They both opened them. In Rissy’s bag was the latest Barbie and in the box he’d given Ria was a fragile silver necklace with a heart on it.
Shane took it out of the box and put it round Ria’s neck.
“Thank you! It’s beautiful!” She cried kissing Shane on the cheek.
“Well,” he told her, “It was actually from all of us!”<br>Ria went round and kissed all the lads. Rissy did the same.
“Oh Nicky,” Hannah said, “I feel so bad, I forgot to give this to you this morning!” Hannah got the CD and card out of her bag. “Happy birthday! Sorry it’s not much! Hope you like it!”<br> Nicky opened his present and his face lit up! “Wow! How did you get this?! It’s limited edition and me and Shane had looked for it everywhere but we couldn’t find it!”<br>Hannah kicked Shane under the table! He’d sent her on a wild goose chase not thinking that she’d be able to find it!
He just grinned. Hannah didn’t actually care, she was just happy that Nicky was so pleased with it!
Nicky showed her everything else that he’d got and they got another round of drinks.
They eventually finished them and decided to get back to the hotel so they could get ready.

Ch 22

They got back to the hotel and went back in through the kitchens like earlier that day.
Once they got back up to their rooms Shane felt in his pockets and suddenly panic flooded into his face.
“What’s wrong?” Hannah asked
“I can’t find the key!” Shane told everyone. “What are we gonna do? We can’t get in!”<br> “We’ll just have to go and get the spare key.” Nicky said simply.
“Will you go and get it mate?” Shane asked Nicky. “Hannah will go with you, won’t ya Han?”<br>Hannah agreed. She let them into her room while Nicky was putting on his sunglasses and beanie hat that were still in his pocket.
They headed downstairs to find another swarm of girls and a long queue at reception.
As they got closer to the front of the queue they could hear girls asking which room Westlife were in and the receptionist was telling them that no on was booked in by the names of Filan, Egan, feehily, Mcfadden or Byrne!
It must’ve been about 20 minutes before they finally got to the front of the queue and once they were there the receptionist asked them loads of questions as if she didn’t believe that it was really their room that they wanted the key for. Eventually she gave them the key and they ran back up to the room.
They knocked on the door to Hannah’s room and no one answered so they went into the lads room to find a note on the table. It said:
‘Opps, sorry, I found the key. It was in my jacket pocket. Then I realosed that the restaurant’s booked for 6 and if we didn’t go now they might cancel our reservation! So, we got ready and got the girls ready and left. You’ll have to phone a taxi! You know where we are. See you there soon

p.s. Hannah, your room key is under this note.’<br> “Charming!” Nicky commented, “They’ve gone without us! I suppose we should hurry up. If I call a taxi now will you be ready in 30 minutes?”<br>Hannah nodded, took her key and went to get dressed.
She put the dress on quickly and then spent the rest of the time doing her hair and make-up.
Exactly 25 minutes later Nicky knocked on Hannah’s door.
She opened it and they both gasped at the same time.
“Wow!” They both murmured.
“You look so beautiful!” Nicky told Hannah.
“And you look…wow!” She replied.
They both laughed, but neither could get over how amazing the other one looked. They both blushed and walked in silence down the stairs and through the kitchens.
Both of them were relieved to see the taxi already there when they got outside.
They got in and spent the short journey in silence.
Once the taxi stopped Nicky jumped out and ran round to open Hannah’s door.
“Thanks!” She said in almost a whisper.
Looking down the street they saw the rest of the lads and Ria and Rissy.
As they got closer they both noticed that they weren’t dressed up, they were al dressed casually in jeans and T-shirts!
“Wow!” All the lads said as Hannah and Nicky got close enough to hear.
“What’s going on?!” They both demanded at the same time.
They all grinned.
“Well…” Shane started.
“Basically,” Bryan cut in, “You two are going for a meal and we’re taking the girls to the cinema!”<br> “Let’s call it a birthday present!” Shane said.
“Oh yeh,” Bryan added handing Nicky a key, “Here’s a key to your very own hotel room tonight! If ya get what I mean!” he winked.
Hannah and Nicky stood in silence.
“Have a nice night!” They all said and started to walk off.
“Oh yeah,” Shane said to Nicky, “I think you should give this to Hannah as you chose it!” he handed Nicky a small box and then kissed Hannah on the cheek. “Have a great night!” he whispered in her ear. “You deserve it!”<br>Hannah noticed Shane’s eyes sparkling and she kissed him back. “Thanks I love you!” She whispered.
With that everyone walked off and Hannah and Nicky were alone.
There was silence before Nicky said, “I guess we should go in then!”<br>Hannah grinned and followed him.
They were led to a table in the corner where they sat opposite looking into each other’s eyes.
“Oh yeah,” Nicky said as if suddenly breaking from a trance. “This is for you.” He opened the box Shane had given him. “I hope you like it.” He pulled Hannah’s hand towards him and slid a ring onto her finger. “Shane said that we should get you a present and I saw that and it just seemed right.”<br>Hannah’s eyes filled up and tears started to fall silently down her face.
Nicky brushed them away with the back of his hand.
“What’s wrong?” he asked concerned.
“I…I…I donno how to say this,” Hannah stuttered, “But…I love you!”<br>Nicky’s eyes started to fill up too.
“I love you too!” he told her.
“Really?” Hannah asked. “I thought, well, I donno.”<br> “I thought that you didn’t feel the same way that I did because, that night, at the club, you ran out.” Nicky told Hannah.
“It’s because I had feelings for you and I didn’t want them to get any stronger because I knew I wouldn’t be able to go on without you if they did!” Hannah explained. “And I was right, the did!
